The Electronic Manufacturing Exposition (eMEX Suzhou) China has become a cooperation platform for electronic manufacturers both at home and abroad, a local official said on Wednesday.

The expo, from Oct. 16 to 19, has attracted 630 electronic manufacturers, with exhibitors from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macao taking up 32 percent of the booths, Suzhou deputy mayor Zhou Weiqiang said at a press conference.

The Jiangsu Province city has hosted the expo for six consecutive years, providing an a good exchange opportunity for manufacturers from abroad as well as Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao.

The exhibitors will showcase their new products and technologies, focusing on environmental protection, energy efficiency improvement and waste-product recycling.

Zhou forecasts the four-day fair will attract a record 150,000 visitors, including 70,000 professionals and 80,000 local residents.

The event is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Suzhou municipal government.
